Early access · in active development
Where WireEngine is today.
WireEngine is in early access and still being built, boats first. Here is what you can use now and what's coming next, stated plainly so you know what you're signing up for.
What you can use today
-
Electrical design. Lay out batteries, chargers, panels, and every run of wire on the boat. Leave what you don't know yet blank, and the design tells you what it's waiting on.
-
Checks as you go. Wire sizing, fuse and breaker placement, voltage drop, and wire colours are checked against the ABYC marine standards while you work. Each finding says which rule it comes from.
-
The design canvas. A live picture of your system showing what's done, what's pending, and what needs attention. Work in any order, with no wizard and no forced sequence.
-
Measuring aboard. Walk the boat with your phone and a tape measure. The moment you enter a run length, its wire gauge and fuse rating are worked out for you.
-
The document set. Wiring schedule, schematic, bill of materials, installation checklist, and owner's manual, all produced from your design and updated when it changes.
-
Spares and stowage. Spares, consumables, and tools with quantities, reorder levels, and named lockers you can see on a plan of the boat.
-
Maintenance log. Service intervals, engine hours, and a history of what was done. Replace a piece of equipment and the design and documents update to match.
Coming
-
Troubleshooting. Ask why the engine won't start and get a diagnosis that knows your boat's equipment, with every fact traced to its source. Engines first.
-
For electricians and yards. Run many boats at once and keep your own proven designs in a private library to start the next job from.
-
RVs and vans. The same tool for RV and van electrical systems. They answer to different standards than boats, and WireEngine will check against the right ones.
-
Working offline. Offshore, with no signal, is exactly when you need your documents and troubleshooting most. WireEngine needs an internet connection for now, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.
This page is deliberately conservative. If something isn't listed as working, assume it isn't finished yet. If you'd like to help us prove out what is, request early access.
